PADI TECREC INSTRUCTOR COURSE
PADI TecRec Deep Instructors contribute to deep exploration by training the next generation of Tec divers. When you earn this rating, you can conduct Discover Tec programs and teach Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 Diver courses.
PADI TecRec Instructor Course
To enroll in a PADI Tec Instructor training course, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a renewed PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or a PADI Instructor with a higher rating).
2. Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver or have a qualifying certification from anoth- er training organization. For this program, a qualifying certification is proof of certification in enriched air nitrox diving with training that includes gas analysis, cylinder labeling, oxygen toxicity, oxygen exposure, maximum depth limits and planning enriched air dives with different enriched air blends (not just EANx32 and EANx36).
3. Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor, or have successfully completed a PADI Enriched Air Instructor training course.
4. Be a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor, or have successfully completed a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor training course.
5. Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, where at least 20 dives were made with enriched air nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and at least 15 dives were deeper than 30 metres/ 100 feet.
Upon successfully completing the DSAT Tec Instructor training course, before sending your application to PADI, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or PADI Instructor with a higher rating.
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor.
- Be a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor.
- Be certified as a DSAT Tec 45 Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization. For the purposes of this level, a qualifying certification is one that qualifies you to make decompression dives to 45 metres/145 feet using air, EANx and oxygen using double cylinder, open circuit scuba equipment. The PADI Course Director conducting the Tec Instructor train- ing course may include the Tec 45 diver level training and certification in the program, issuing the certification when you successfully complete the DSAT Tec Instructor training course.
- Have a minimum of 20 stage decompression dives.
- Have successfully completed the Tec Instructor Exam. Your application may need to include documentation/proof of meeting these requirements by including photocopies of certifications, qualifications, etc. Log entry copies or print outs must specify dates, depths, loca- tions, times and gases used. Verification and signatures provided by wit- nesses (divers and instructors of courses assisted) must provide the same information.
PADI TecRec Deep Instructor Course
To enroll in a TecRec Deep Instructor course, you must:
- Be a renewed PADI Instructor
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor, or have completed a PADI Enriched Air Instructor course.
- Be a PADI Deep Specialty Instructor, or have completed a PADI Deep Specialty Instructor course.
- Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, with at least 20 enriched air dives, 25 dives deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and 15 dives deeper than 30 metres/100 feet.
Prior to sending in your Tec Deep Instructor application, you must also:
- Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
- Be a PADI Enriched Air Instructor
- Be a PADI Deep Specialty Instructor
- Be a Tec 50 Diver
- Have assisted with at least one Tec 50 Diver course or one Tec 45 Diver course
- Have a minimum of 270 dives logged, with at least 25 stage decompression dives deeper than 40 metres/130 feet.
- Have certified a total of 10 or more PADI Deep Divers and/or PADI Enriched Air Divers.
- Have successfully completed the Tec Deep Instructor course exams.
- Meet a peer review waterskill requirement.
If you aren’t a certified Tec diver, you can take the PADI TecRec Diver Course. In fact, the first part of the course makes sure you have a good grasp of the knowledge and skills required for technical deep diving. During the second part of the course, you practice conducting knowledge development, practical application and open water teaching segments. Your Tec Deep Instructor Trainer will also go over organization and marketing considerations for TecRec courses.
The PADI Tec Instructor or PADI TecRec Instructor Course usually conduct in conjunction with a PADI Tec 40, 45 or 50 Diver Course, Instructor candidate have to undergo the Internship with a PADI TecRec Instructor Trainer. - All Participants Are Required To Fill Up The PADI Release of Liability/ Assumption of Risk / Non-Agency Acknowledge Form Before Any Diving Activity.
- All Participants Are Required To Fill Up The PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding Before Any Diving Activity.
- All Participants Are Required To Fill Up The PADI Medical Statement Before Any Diving Activity.
- If There Are Any Pre-Existing Medical Conditions (Eg Asthma, Heart Conditions, Operations Etc) May Prevent You From Diving, Please Consult Your Doctor For A Medical Clearance Before Any Diving Activity.
- For Certified Divers, A Proof of Certification From Any Training Agency Is Required Before The Diving Activity.
- Divers Should Not Take Flight 12Hrs After Scuba Diving.
- Under 10Yrs Old Are Not Allow To Participate In The Program Except Bubble Maker Program (8 - 9Yrs Old) Conducted In Pool Only.
- For Children Between 10 - 11Yrs Old Going To Confined Water or Open Water, Parents or Guardian Must Review The Youth Diving Responsibility & Risks FlipChart As Well As Fill Up The Youth Diving Responsibility And Risks Acknowledgement Form Before Any Diving Activity.
